お茶会では茶道具も重要な役割を担っています。主な茶道具を簡単にご説明させていただきます。
濃茶の抹茶を入れる器を茶入れと言います。蓋は象牙製で仕覆と言う布袋の中に入れて使います。茶入れには、中国から伝来した唐物と瀬戸、備前、丹波、薩摩高取などの和物、南蛮から渡来した島物があります。また、茶入れの仕覆の布袋には錦織緞子など生地の縫製があり、客人が観賞する道具のひとつとされています。
A container for the strong powered tea “Koi-cha” is called “Tea Caddy”. The lid is made from Ivory wrapped in a cloth bag called Shifuku. The lid is used covered by this cloth bag. There is Tea Caddy introduced from China such as ”Karamono”, ”Seto”, ”Bizen”, ”Tanba” ,”Satsuma” and ”Takatori” all are Japanese design, and others introduced from ”Namban” such as ”Shimamono”, the Western design. The cloth bag for the Shifuku is weaved from a type of cloth called Nishikiori Donsu. It is an instrument to entertain guests for a tea ceremony.
薄茶の抹茶を入れる器を薄茶器と言います。または棗とも呼びます。
これは棗の形に由来するもので、形も小棗、中棗、大棗、平棗等に分かれます。
漆器製、木製、陶磁器製、ガラス製があります。

茶杓とは茶入、薄茶器の中から抹茶をすくう細長い匙ことを言います。
素材は主に竹ですが、象牙、木地などもあります。茶会のなかで亭主に茶杓の銘について尋ねることがありますが、一般的には禅語あるいは古典文学の中の語句を銘として用いています。

茶道具のなかで客人が自ら手に取り、心ゆくまで観賞することが出来るのが茶碗です。茶碗の産地の土質、使用する釉薬などが茶碗に各産地の異なった表情をもたらします。
抹茶に親しむ第一歩としては、茶碗の種類を理解することは重要です。
茶碗は大きく分けて、唐物茶碗、高麗茶碗、和物茶碗などに分けられます。
唐 物：
天目茶碗など中国から伝来したものを唐物と呼びます。
高麗物：
朝鮮半島李朝時代のものを言い、井戸茶碗、三島茶碗、粉引茶碗、刷毛目茶碗、伊羅保茶碗などがあります。
和 物：
萩焼、唐津焼、瀬戸焼、高取焼、朝日焼、楽焼など日本製茶碗のことを言います。数え切れない位、その種類も豊富です。

Chinese ceramic ware :
It is transmitted from China. It represents “Tenmoku Tea Bowl”.
Korean ceramic ware :
It is transmitted from the Korean Peninsula, there are“Ido Tea Bowl”, “Mishima Tea Bowl” “Konahiki team Bowl”.
Japanese ceramic ware :
It is Japanese made tea bowl.
There are innumerable kinds of tea bowls such as“Hagi”,“Karatsu”, “Seto”, “Takatori”, “Asahi”, and“Raku”.
